Yasmin is a Screenwriter, Director, Producer, Executive Producer who was born and raised in Atlanta, GA. Yasmin Neal is a native of Georgia. Yasmin is a champion for investments for indie filmmakers as she works to build her film fund, The STORYTELLER FILM FUND, and works to provide exclusive film investment events to give indie filmmakers access to capital. Yasmin has exciting film related investor partnerships in the works. After working tirelessly for years to find the investors, Yasmin is ready. Yasmin hopes to bridge the gap, with her new partners in the investment space, to provide funding opportunities to indie filmmakers like herself.

Yasmin has a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and an MBA in Global Management. She also attended Clayton State University Georgia Film Academy Film School (Production Course).
Yasmin was a police officer, detective and undercover investigator.
Yasmin interned with Georgia Public Broadcasting as a Production Assistant of 40+ live shows working behind and in front of the camera. Yasmin was also a writer for the Clayton News Daily, Henry Daily Herald Newspaper and wrote for The Spectator, which is the newspaper at Valdosta State University. Yasmin has worked or advised on various projects, she was a script consultant for a collegiate screenwriting course and sold her first feature horror screenplay in 2014. Her first film, “Queen of Kings” (Ancient egyptian project about all of the female pharoahs in Africa) was selected to be shown at the National Black Film Festival in Houston, Texas, and was nominated for Best Promotional Trailer and Best Short Film at that Content Creators Awards and won the award for Best Short Film. Queen of Kings won Audience Award 2017 at a Filmmakers Showcase in Savannah, Ga.

Queen of Kings was also was a semi-finalist in Canada at the Best Short Fest 2017 and premiered at the Dope Flix film screening in Atlanta, GA in 2018. The film, Incensed, won the “Best of Festival” for Atlanta and is nominated for “Best Sound Award,” and also premiered at the Rome Film Festival 2017. Incensed also premiered at the 2018 Georgia Film Festival and at the Wifta Film Showcase in 2018.

In 2018 Yasmin's Horror Short Enoch premiered at the Oregon Screamfest and the Hotlanta Horror Festival where it was nominated for Best Director, Best Cinematography, Best Actor, Best Editing, Best Scariest Moment, Best Horror Overall, Best Microshort and it won Best Director and Best Scariest Moment. Recently, In 2019, Enoch, the horror, also premiered at Women in Horror/Thriller Fest in New York and in Canada @ Best Short Fest as an Official Selection. Yasmin’s action short film, Dear Hard Work, also premiered at the Circle City Festival and won the top 5 Award. Dear Hard Work and Enoch have been picked as Official Selections for the National Black Film Festival 2019 in Houston Texas.

Additionally, Enoch (horror) and Dear Hard Work was selected to show at the Jack Daniels Gentleman Jack Reel to Real 2019 competition to a max capacity crowd in Atlanta. The film was then featured at American Black Film Festival in Miami to another max capacity crowd and celebrity event. Target Practice (Drama Short) about treatment of african americans in America, premiered at the following: Justice Film Festival (NY 2019), Justice on Trial Film Festival (Los Angeles, 2020), Morehouse Human Rights Film Festival (Finalist for Spike Lee Award, 2019), Content Creators of Atlanta (2019), New York Cinematography Awards Semi-finalist 2020, and in June 2020 Viola Davis posted Target Practice on social media causing it to go viral to the tune of 400 million (+) views and counting. 

Her action film FIELDCRAFT, is an official selection for the Los Angeles International Film Festival 2020 and the Austin Action Fest 2020 in Austin Texas.Her horror film, CRY WOLF, was nominated for Best Short Film at the National Black Film Festival, and an official selection at the Canadian Cinematography Awards 2020 and the Los Angeles Cinematography Awards 2020. Yasmins film COUNTERTERROR went viral in Dec 2022 and maintained its status into 2023. Yasmin also Directs the live show programming of the services of her church Ithrive Christian Church in Ellenwood Georgia.
